Colossal

Colossal was a heavily underrated band of the early 2000s from Chicago. If you're into jangly indie/emo jams then you'll enjoy Colossal's discography. Having only released an EP titled "Brave the Elements" and one LP titled "Welcome the Problems", they definitely made their mark. This is the download for both the EP and LP.

Penfold

Penfold is a very underrated late 90s emo band. Amateurs and Professionals ranks high on the charts with the other classics of the genre in my opinion. Count Your Lucky Stars Records just repressed this album, head on over to their website to purchase it if you dig it. Click here to get into it.

La Quiete

La Quiete is another excellent French screamo band. Their drummer also plays in Raein. They have a couple of eps out as well as some splits. This is their self titled EP. Click here to get into it.

Deafheaven

I definitely slept on this band for way too long. Deafheaven is a melodic black metal band from San Francisco, CA fusing elements of hardcore and post-rock into their sound. Roads to Judah is their first official release on Deathwish Inc. but they also have a demo floating around somewhere. Click here to get into it.

Tigerscout

I saw this band a while back at the Ottobar in Baltimore, MD with Passengers, Montpellier, and a few other great bands. I hadn't heard much about them until the other day when they released this. Definitely worth checking out if you're into melodic screamo. Click here to get into it.

A City Sorrow Built

A City Sorrow Built released this demo/ep in 2011. The music is incredibly raw and powerful. The vocals sound honest and desperate. According to their website, they plan on recording new music soon. Click here to get into it.

Caust

Caust are a northern VA screamo/hardcore band. Recently added to the Interskramz comp, Caust are making a respectable name for themselves in the screamo scene. 5 great dudes who play great music. Here's their EP "Pageturner". Click here to get into it.

Beartrap

Beartrap is another To Live A Lie Records band. Powerviolence at it's finest. With the longest song weighing in at 47 seconds long, "Nailed Shut" is definitely worth countless listens. Click here to get into it.

The Saddest Landscape

The Saddest Landscape are a chaotic screamo band from Boston currently signed to Topshelf Records. They have released 4 LPs and a handful of eps and splits with bands such as The Pine, We Were Skeletons, and Pianos Become the Teeth. "Lift Your Burdens High For This Is Where We Cross" is the album that really hooked me to this band. Filled with beautifully personal lyrics and brilliant songwriting, The Saddest Landscape have easily become one of my favorite screamo bands. Click here to get into it.

Battle Royale

I recently found out about Battle Royale when I downloaded The Ghost Is Clear's label sampler. I still don't know too much about this band, other than they're from Kansas City, part of the TGIC family, and list tons of notable screamo bands as their influences. Also, they sort of remind me of Age Sixteen. Here is their 4-way split with Texas Instruments, Baitfish, and Regret The Informer. Click here to get into it.

Mihai Edrisch

Mihai Edrisch were a French screamo band from Lyon, France. Members currently play in Daïtro and Celeste. This is their first album L'un Sans L'autre. Click here to get into it.

The Pine

Not too much can be said, or is even known about The Pine. Hailing from Bakersfield, CA, they formed in 1998, released a few full-lengths, a split with The Saddest Landscape, and an EP or two. Shuffling around the best local record store in my town (Rock N' Roll Graveyard), I came across The Pine's legendary first release. Here is their self titled album. Click here to get into it.
